How to Place Your Roulette Bets

Even though you have a live dealer present, you still use our software to place your wagers and make your choices known, so it’s important to familiarise yourself with the structure of the betting table – especially when real cash is at stake! There may be a few variations in the available bets when you play roulette, depending on the game variation you have chosen, but a good starting point for any roulette game is to learn the following, as the way to bet is universal:

• On the European roulette betting table, you will be able to spot numbers from zero to 36. Place your chips on the number you wish to wager on, or for several numbers, place them on the corner or line end to show your bet preference.
• On the outside right, you can see bets that cover a range of numbers (1 to 18, or 19 to 36) and you can also bet on any third, a colour or and odds/even option. The zero is not part of any of the bets highlighted here and if a 0 hits, you lose.
• The outside bottom area is where bets on numbers in a column are placed.

How you bet is up to you. Do you like bets that are less likely to hit but pay out more generously when your number comes in? Or do you like bets that have a low payout but lots more chances of winning? Or even a combination of the two? Cluster Pays Slots

A mechanic initially created by NetEnt and first debuted in a game called Aloha, Cluster Pays slots are games that allow a winning combination to be formed by a cluster of symbols as opposed to a traditional straight payline. For example, if you land multiple symbols on adjacent positions on the reels, they create a cluster formation which results in a payout proportional to the cluster size. Cluster Pays slots often feature avalanche reels as well, meaning there’s the potential to chain wins together. Because it’s harder to tell what formation you need to land in order to win big, there’s an air of mystery, intrigue, and added tension every time you play a Cluster Pays slot.

Baccarat

Massively popular in Macau, baccarat comes in many variants. Punto banco is the most common one and is what you’ll find at most gambling sites. In punto banco baccarat, punters bet on whether the ‘player’ hand or the ‘banker’ hand will be closest to a value of nine. The number cards 2–9 are given their face value, while 10s and face cards are worth zero and aces are worth one point. Only the unit digit of the hand total is used, meaning a hand made up of 6 and 7 is worth 3 rather than 13.

A round of baccarat is called a coup, where each hand is dealt two cards and the values are compared — if either hand is worth 8 or 9, it’s a ‘natural’ and the winner is announced. Players can also bet on a draw, although the house edge is much higher, 4.85% for 8-to-1 payouts and 14.4% for 9-to-1 payouts. If neither hand wins after the first two cards, an extra card is dealt for the player hand and then the banker hand, according to a set of rules called the tableau. Both the banker and player win even money, although banker bets are subject to a 5% commission.

D’Alembert strategy

The D’alembert strategy is a relatively safe playing method and involves you increasing and decreasing your bet by £1, depending on whether you win or lose.

Each time you win, you decrease your stake by £1, and every time you lose, you bet £1 more. If you win the same number of times that you lose, you can look forward to a rewarding payout.

Opening multiple accounts
