• The New Motown – A bit of a stretch, it’s when Michael Jackson left the group (see Motown).

• Ken –Yet another name creation, combining King and Ten.

• Ike Turner –Not too politically correct in the #metoo era, but this name derives from Turner’s penchant for occasional violence with former wife Tina Turner. K-10 (Ike) beats Q-10 (Tina).

Ace-Five (A-5)

• High Five – Ace (High) + 5 = High Five. A little clever, and perfect on that 2-3-4 flop. Play it cool, though, no real-life high-fives during the hand.

O’Sullivan vs Higgins

Both players were competing in different eras but if they were matched up today, O’Sullivan would likely come out on top. It would be a hugely entertaining meeting and Higgins would likely play to the audience throughout. The power and explosive style of Higgins was absorbing and unmissable, but O’Sullivan would outthink his opponent and even with the Northern Irishman’s finishing, the Rocket would likely prove too savvy for the Hurricane. O’Sullivan has previously expressed his admiration for Higgins and both players have previously been labelled as outsiders amongst their peers. The match-up is purely hypothetical of course but if these two players had ever met, it would have been one of the most explosively entertaining games of snooker ever to be witnessed and the TV audience would be glued to every frame. Higgins’ exploits cannot be matched and remains snooker’s greatest maverick, but O’Sullivan gives him a decent run for his money and has many more years of headline-making left in him yet.

Another sneaking climber in the betting, James is pegged somewhere around Henry Golding and lovely Dev Patel. If you've not come across him before, he's popped up in ITV's period drama Sanditon and the Dark Crystal reboot, and is heading up Steven Moffat's adaptation of The Time Traveller's Wife this summer. He's exactly the right age, and he's fairly undeniably a dish, and he's got the stage experience that Barbara Broccoli seems to prize too. His ascension to Bond would certainly be that big step up, and he's a totally different physical specimen to Craig. An outsider, for sure, but perhaps one to keep an eye on.

In a pre-season friendly for AC Milan, two fans ran onto the pitch to demand a selfie with the striker. Rather than shy away like most would in such a situation, Balotelli was more than happy to oblige.

Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù

Gangs of London's Dìrísù would be one of the more interesting, highbrow picks for Bond. Up to now he's mostly done a mixture of think-y period pieces (Mr Malcolm's List, Mothering Sunday, The Halcyon) and slightly dystopian dramas (Silent Night, Tides) with one of the best British horrors of recent years thrown in too (His House, which he's pictured starring in above).

Smacking bad lads in the service of queen and country would be a bit of an about-turn, but that thoughtful sensibility is something that Barbara Broccoli liked in Daniel Craig as well as his air of ruthlessness.

The 31-year-old's also got that mix of sensuality and sinuousness (he used to play quarterback for Birmingham uni's team while he was studying there, so he can handle himself) which Bond demands, and he seems interested in parts which look at the empire and colonialism differently. It's a fresh angle to come at Bond – servant of the crown, member of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George – from.

As we found when we had a chat with him a couple of years back, around the time he got nominated for Bafta's Rising Star award, he did used to run around Luton as a kid pretending to be Indiana Jones. But let's not hold it against him.

Celebrations

Balotelli's naked torso was to be one of the defining images of Euro 2012 - but he's not overly keen on celebrating goals. 'I don't celebrate goals, I'm just doing my job,' he infamously said. 'Does a postman celebrate when he delivered the mail?'

• Big Brother – Named for a theme from George Orwell’s novel “1984,” which details a fictional country where freedom is limited and “Big Brother” is always watching. The hand is also simply referred to as Orwell.

Now Peaky Blinders is all over and done with, Cillian Murphy will be free to take on another time-consuming leading man role – and ideally one with less demanding grooming demands. The baker boy hat will weigh him down no longer.

Somewhat inevitably, Bond rumours have begun to swirl around the Irish actor again. He’s long been in the conversation and has addressed rumours in the past with the same non-committal good humour that most in-demand actors do. He’s proven that he can play a gun-toting hard man with the requisite pathos, and his critically-acclaimed work over the past two decades on indie and blockbuster films alike undoubtedly bolsters his cause. It goes without saying that he looks the part in a suit. What's not to like?

Well, he wouldn’t represent the kind of radical departure that some fans and critics are crying out for, and at 45 he may not fit the bill anyway (based on past filming schedules, he’d be at least 47 by the time filming started). Daniel Craig was six years younger when he took on the job in 2006, and we have a hunch that Barbara Broccoli will ultimately want to bring a younger Bond to screens, if only to differentiate the next instalment from the ones that directly came before it.

Then there's the timing of it. Murphy's the lead in Christopher Nolan's next one, Oppenheimer, a biopic about the father of the atomic bomb, so he'll be busy with that for a while too.

All that said: just as the sixth season of Peaky Blinders dropped, Cills jumped up Coral's rankings as his odds tumbled from 25/1 to 5/1. The standard health warnings on bookies' press releases applies.

On 23 April 1910, Roose, by then a very famous former Stoke player, guested alongside Herbert Chapman for Port Vale in a match against Stoke Reserves. It would decide the winner of the North Staffordshire and District League.

Roose not only insisted on playing against his former club while wearing his old Stoke shirt, but aroused the ire of the 7,000 crowd with his breathtaking ability.

The media reported that he

Saved every shot with such arrogant ease that the furious crowd spilled onto the field, only the brave intervention of the local constabulary saving him from a ducking in the River Trent.

In the course of the match, Stoke’s chairman, the Reverend A.E. Hurst, ran onto the pitch to appeal for calm and was knocked out by one of his own forwards.
