SLOTS ARE EASY.

There’s virtually no learning curve in playing a slot machine. At the most basic, you slide currency into a bill validator to buy credits, you push a button or pull a handle to start reels spinning, and you wait to see what symbols land on paylines. There are no strategies to learn, and no one to criticize you if you make a mistake, as sometimes happens at blackjack tables.

Engineering – Mechanical Product Design

Bell-Fruit EngineeringBFG has invested in an in-house mechanical design and development resource that encompasses an experienced team covering new 3D conceptual design and modelling, detailed design, prototyping and manufacturing engineering. This facilitates a timely response to the introduction of new product developments, and ensures that Bell-Fruit Games is in the best possible position to respond to product changes and modifications.

The Product Design team works in an engaging manner to generate excellent results and ensures that our ideas reach the end user as quickly as possible. In addition to producing innovative new product designs, our Design Team is also involved in ensuring that an extended, reliable, and appropriate development and manufacturing solution is in place involving many UK and overseas companies.

Research – In today’s increasingly competitive gaming climate, market and product research are vitally important. It is fundamental that our Design and Development Department responds to the fast changing market, and is conscious of the current trends and needs of our target market. At Bell-Fruit Games we believe that the support of technological implements, such as 3D CAD modelling, is essential; also that it is used in conjunction with the right research, which is evaluated at various stages of the design process.

Concept – We have the right design and development concept tools, from sketching to prototyping, that ensure our designers are well equipped to produce outstanding results. Visual conceptual design is interactive, and other departments are encouraged to engage in this process to ensure that all appropriate concerns and ideas are considered.

Style – We ensure effective utilisation of product styling to create a product that is right for the market, is aesthetically pleasing, and appeals to the right audience. Good product styling incorporating both ergonomic and aesthetic principles can inspire physical and emotional reactions, thereby contributing to a product’s success.

Visual – Product visualisation is part of our technological product design process, which includes the creation of photorealistic images and animations to help visualise and better understand the product and its function.

3D CAD Modelling – The “3D SolidWorks” CAD design system used by our designers mirrors that used by our parent company (Novomatic), based in Vienna. This system is linked in real-time so that Group designers can collaborate on new or shared projects. This, together with “Inventor” which is used by the Draughtsman, is widely used throughout the world of product design and manufacturing.

Prototype – We employ and source the latest rapid prototyping, available from our parent company, alongside traditional prototyping techniques which are produced in-house. We believe that the design process should involve prototyping throughout, and it is vital that any new product is tried and tested in a real world environment from an early stage.

Opportunities – We are always keen to encourage bright new designers and have worked with local university students on new development projects. This provides Bell-Fruit with fresh ideas and also provides students with valuable experience of working on real world concepts and products.

Do you fancy giving the old fruit machine a spin? While you can always pop into a betting shop or local pub to try your hand at the slots, London offers plentiful places to test your luck in style. Here are a few of the city’s best places to play modern video slot machines, from the big names in Leicester Square to upscale hotel casinos. Also check out Casino Guardian.

1. The Hippodrome

We’ll start with the Hippodrome, one of a cluster of casinos in London’s Leicester Square. The Hippodrome is a relative newcomer to the scene, but it stands tall with three floors for gaming and 24-hour opening times. Electronic games, slots, table gaming, and a Pokerstars Live deck are all undoubted highlights of this glitzy former nightclub. In terms of slot machines, you’ll find them scattered throughout the gaming floors. There are games from major names like IGT and Novomatic, but the big draw of the Hippodrome is its ambience. You’ll feel like you’re entering an old-time speakeasy as you step through the doors of the Chinatown entrance into Lola’s Underground Casino. Upstairs you’ll find private gaming rooms and a cocktail bar, as well as table games where you can play Three Card Poker, Dice, Blackjack, and Baccarat.

2. Napoleons Casino & Restaurant

Another highlight of the Leicester Square casinos is Napoleons. Like the Hippodrome, it’s open 24 hours to serve you whenever you’re hit with a hankering for a round of slots. While some casinos in London are membership-only, Napoleons is a purely democratic venue with its doors open to anyone who enjoys a good toss of the dice. It offers classic, elegant casino décor and a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to the usual Roulette and Blackjack, you’ll find plenty of slots with a jackpot hitting £10,000. The dress code is smart casual, and the restaurant is worth a visit in itself – treat yourself to grilled sirloin and parmesan mash after hitting the jackpot here.

3. Grosvenor Casino

One of London’s biggest names in gaming is the Grosvenor. Head to Piccadilly’s Coventry Street to admire the stylish interior of this refurbished theatre. What was once the seating area is now the main gambling floor, where you’ll find an array of table games. You’ll need to head upstairs to find the slot machines, including action-packed titles from Novomatic, WMS Gaming and IGT. The Grosvenor also offers Novomatic Gaminator machines, which allow you to play several different games without having to switch machines. This is the latest evolution in the traditional fruit machine, which has come a long way since the first video slot was rolled out in 1976. From there, video slots grew to include features we all enjoy now in online slots like multiple paylines, bonus rounds and scatter symbols. Check out the history of slot machines here to appreciate multifaceted machines like the Gaminator.

4. Palm Beach

If you’re looking for a more upscale gaming experience, Mayfair’s Palm Beach casino won’t disappoint. Wear something smart to try your luck at this casino, joined as it is with the swanky Mayfair Hotel. The casino caters to a discerning clientele, but it’s rather small compared to larger outfits like the Hippodrome which makes it easy to navigate. The roulette, table games and slots are all located in the same gambling area. When you first arrive, you will be able to purchase a membership card that you need to top up in order to play the slot games. Palm Beach has about twenty to choose from, including top titles from Novomatic and IGT. If you want to branch out a little, there are also private tables available to host your next poker night as well as a dice table and high-roller tournaments.

5. Empire Casino

We’ll end this roundup with the Empire Casino. It’s about as close to a Las Vegas as you’ll get in London, with 40 video slots to choose from. Players can choose from many of IGT’s standout hits, like Pharaoh’s Revenge or Cleopatra, but there’s also a selection from Novomatic. Slots are located in the London Poker Room and the upper gaming floor. The full casino is spread out over 55,000 square feet and three floors of action, so if you tire of the slots you can try your hand at Blackjack and Roulette, Three Card Poker, or Baccarat. There are also four bars and a highly rated Chinese restaurant on the premises, so you’re unlikely to get bored on a night out here. Entry is free and the dress code is casual, making it a welcoming casino experience for one and all right in Leicester Square.

When it comes to entertainment, London doesn’t disappoint and casinos are no exception. Whether you prefer playing the penny slots or living the life of a high roller, visit any of these venues with style to spare.

THREE businesses in Somerset face anxious waits to see if they will be granted new Royal Warrants following the death of the Queen.

The warrants are awarded to companies to prove they provide goods or services to the Royal Family.

Businesses with a Royal Warrant can display a royal coat of arms and advertise that they provide goods or services “by appointment to” that royal. However, these automatically expire on the death of the royal who granted them, and firms have two years to remove the coat of arms from their products, vehicles, and stationery.

That means an anxious wait for the 620 businesses that held Royal Warrants granted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

There are three business in Somerset which will be affected: A J Charlton & Sons, based near Frome; Holy Wells Glass, in Wells; SFM Technology, in Martock.

A J Charlton & Sons have manufactured timber products for over 119 years and really do understand how to use this natural material to create beautiful gates that are built to last.

Charlton's take great care in the production of a range of high-quality gates which are crafted in Somerset.

Charlton's produces a comprehensive range of Driveway, 5 bar, and Pedestrian Gates as well as a range of Fencing and Landscaping products; all of which are made in South West England.

The timber is sourced responsibly; the company is proud to be using one of the most sustainable building materials and holds both PEFC and Grown in Britain accreditations.

Holy Wells Glass is a family-run stained glass conservation studio set up by Steve Clare in 1995.

It boasts a talented team of dedicated and passionate conservation professionals.

The company declined to comment at this time.

SFM Technology produced its first apple-harvesting machine in 1985.

Since then, the company has grown steadily and developed into one of the world’s leading, specialist designers and manufacturers of fruit harvesting machinery.

Originally designing and manufacturing harvesting machinery for the apple sector, SFM Technology now serves a variety of growers and enjoys global success.

Rising consumer demand for reviving classic nut-flavored products has encouraged confectionery brands to develop new fillings that consist of almonds, pistachios, and other nuts. According to National Confectioners Association, in 2021, around USD 36.9 billion was recorded from candy sales through retail, bookstores, airports and vending machines in the U.S.

Nut-based confectionery fillings market share will be over USD 40 billion by 2030, states the new study. These products are useful in manufacturing chocolate and bakery confectioneries to offer innovative tastes for consumers. “It approximates how warm it feels to humans because we cool via sweating,” Mr Matthews says. “We rely on that exclusively. When you use that measure, the wet bulb temperature, the two regions that stand out on earth are the shores of the Gulf and the Indus Valley in Pakistan. They are truly exceptional.”

Jacobabad crossed the 35C wet bulb threshold in July 1987, then again in June 2005, June 2010 and July 2012. Each time the boundary may have been breached for only a few hours, but a three-day average maximum temperature has been recorded hovering around 34C in June 2010, June 2001 and July 2012. The dry bulb temperature is often over 50C in the summer.

Patchy death records mean it is not clear whether the crossing of the threshold resulted in a wave of fatalities. The effects of entering the danger zone are likely to be blurred, for example with cooler interiors of buildings temporarily sheltering residents from the worst. It also depends on how long the threshold is crossed.

Mr Matthews said: “Even though it's theoretically been crossed according to the weather station measurements in that part of the world, whether or not it's been crossed in the hyper local environment where people are living, and for long enough to really translate into widespread deadly conditions, is another question.”

A FAMILY-RUN farm has expanded its eco-friendly vending machine as it works alongside Herefordshire businesses to cut down on waste and supply fresh whole milk.

Great Trewen Milk Shed is a family business ran by the Amos family in the village of Llangrove, near Ross-On-Wye.

It has four generations on the farm, which has been in the family for over 60 years.

Holstein Friesian cows spend their days during spring, summer and autumn enjoying the Herefordshire countryside.

During the winter they are housed in sheds with beds of straw and fed fodder collected earlier in the year.

The Milkshed, at Llangrove Village Hall, is a self-service vending machine providing fresh whole milk which has been pasteurised gently.

This means it is pasteurised at a lower temperature for a longer period to help retain the natural flavour.

It is open seven days a week: Monday to Friday from 7am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7.30am to 8pm.

Milk is £1.20 a litre or 60p for 500ml, with reusable one litre and 500ml glass bottles also available.

The machines accept coin or contactless card but neither give change.

At the milkshake bar you can find chocolate, banana, and strawberry alongside a guest syrup and a sugar-free syrup available at 50p per shot, but this is cash only.

During lockdown, the milk shed worked alongside an extended family to be able to offer free range chicken eggs for members of the public along with the fresh milk.

This went down well with the locals as it saved many from heading to a big supermarket in the hight of a global pandemic.

In July 2020, the milkshake bar was added, and this was a big hit with loyal customers and the farm also saw new customers traveling from as far as Pontypool and Hay-on-Wye, said a spokesperson from the farm.

Since it opened, other farms have launched similar ventures, including Wicton Farm at Legges in Bromyard and Whole Moo World at Saffron's Cross Garage in Bodenham and at Hintons in Leominster.

"Many of our far away customers still travel to visit us weekly," said the spokesperson.

"The local community reached out to us and asked if we were able to stock more items, so we looked into this."

The first year the milk shed began it sold asparagus and strawberries.

Now local free-range eggs, Netherend Farm Butter, locally made Tasty Jane's Cakes, Hank Meat and Game sausage rolls and pork pies are also stocked.

During the summer, the farm sells locally grown fruit and in the winter faggots.

Steamed pudding, cheese, and sausages have also been in the shopping machine.

When lockdown was over it teamed up with Old Court Hotel, which used milk in the cooking, drinks and for small bottles to be on each table for breakfast service.

When Covid restrictions were lifted, the farm received its first delivery of fresh whole milk travelling only one mile.

Following on from this it now supplies many locations in Herefordshire and has just ventured into Monmouthshire.

(Alliance News) - Dekel Agri-Vision PLC on Monday reported a drop in crude palm oil sales but anticipates establishing a second revenue stream shortly in August trading update.

The palm oil and cashew grower in West Africa produced 1,024 tonnes of crude palm oil in August 2022, a 39% decrease from the 1,678 tonnes recorded in August last year. Sales declined 38% year-on-year, mirroring the decrease in production.

Fresh fruit bunch volumes remained low as well, having stayed unusually low in like-for-like terms since February. Fresh fruit bunches are the raw material for palm oil.

The price of local crude palm oil remains high. It reached EUR1,030 in August 2022, 8.7% higher than in August 2021.

The company noted early indications that fresh fruit bunch volumes are trending upwards. As local demand remains consistent around EUR1,000 mark, the company is optimistic looking further into the year.

All key equipment is on site at their cashew project, including 11 shelling machines which are now being installed and commissioned, according to Dekel Agri-Vision. It expects a "significant uplift in production capacity" at the time of next month's report.

Executive Director Lincoln Moore said: "We are now on the cusp of delivering our short-term objective of operating our palm oil operation and cashew operation in tandem. With crude palm oil prices continuing to trade at close to long-term highs, we are hopeful that we will see fresh fruit bunch volumes improve, particularly in the next high season, so we can capitalise fully on these supportive prices.

"We now have all key equipment for the cashew operation on site and are undertaking the final installation and commissioning phase. We are entering an exciting phase of reaching our objective of operating an enlarged company with two material revenue streams from 2023 onwards."

Shares in Dekel Agri-Vision were trading 4.9% higher at 3.20 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.

Bees are highly social and cooperative insects. They have a unique and complex form of communication based on sight, motion, and scent that even scientists don’t fully understand.

Bees communicate with each other through intricate “dance” movements. And research has shown that they are capable of abstract thinking, as well as distinguishing their family members from other bees in the hive.

But bees are perhaps best known for their honey.

Nature’s sweet sauce comes with unique properties. It appears in everything from cakes to cheese to tea (it was even once used as an ingredient in embalming fluid). Honey is linked to a host of health benefits, as it contains antioxidants that have been proven to help lower blood pressure.

But what exactly is honey? Are bees harmed to make it? And is it vegan?

Since honey comes from an animal, it is not considered vegan. As The Vegan Society states, “honey is made by bees for bees.” Just like cow’s milk and chicken eggs, the natural production of honey is not intended for human consumption. (Scroll to the bottom of the article for some of the best vegan honey alternatives.)
