End of the Road 2022Larmer Tree Gardens, Dorset

IT MAY sound strange but one of the features that sets End of the Road apart from its many competitors on the UK festival circuit is that it’s about music.

Surely all music festivals are about music? Well, on the surface, yes. But in fact, these days there’s one thing that is often seen as more important than music – making money. Not so at End of the Road.

The first clue one gets as to the sound principles at the heart of this enduring cornerstone of the festival circuit – now in its 16th year – is the line-up. Chosen, not to pander to the dicta of pop (or even alternative) radio, but rather to create an eclectic mix that will challenge and excite. Pushing boundaries and often putting up-and-coming artists on the biggest stages of their careers – and the audience love it.

Take Grove, for example. The Bristol rapper, singer and producer gets an incongruous 3.45pm slot on the third stage, The Big Top, on the Saturday – but such is the power and intent of the UK garage/grime set, that one of those magic, live-performance feedback loops is established.

The audience are whipped up into a mosh-pit frenzy, feeding off the bouncing energy coming from the stage, which only serves to push Grove to even greater heights.

Towards the end of the set Grove pronounces it as “Next level stuff.” And by the time they closes with a grimy version of Sugababes’ Sound of the Underground and their own fearsome Ur Boyfriend’s Whack, they’re laughing in disbelief: “And it’s only 4:30.”

Later on the Saturday, after headliners Pixies have delivered a blistering 90 minutes of indie perfection (lead singer Black Francis’s voice showing no signs of losing any of its trademark power) on the main stage, Grove resurfaces on the Tipi Stage for a secret set – and the audience are still bouncing.

One song is dedicated to fellow Bristolians who tore down the statue of slave trader Edward Colston in 2020. Grove describes it as a proud moment to be black and British.

The energy of the crowd, which seems to have a more representative proportion of every age range than most festivals, of course has something to do with the great music. But there’s something else at play here too.

There’s space. Space to wander through the fantastic art installations in the woods. Space to camp. And space to appreciate the music. While festivals large and small are increasingly guilty of packing in more and more people to squeeze as much money as possible out of their audience, EotR stands as a beacon of integrity.

Independent and completely free of corporate sponsorship, it sells out every year months in advance, but the lure of increasing capacity is steadfastly resisted.

A particularly calm and quiet corner of the festival is the Talking Heads Stage. Hidden among the trees on ground that slopes down away from the main part of Lamer Tree Gardens, it is mainly used for spoken word performances.

But it also hosts some low-key acoustic acts, such as Christian Lee Hutson, who creates a magical hour at sunset on the Friday weaving stories together with his wry and sometimes heartbreaking takes on modern life.

Perhaps one of the most unusual acts of the weekend is Alabaster Deplume, the freeform jazz saxophonist/poet pushes boundaries on the Garden Stage and is another of the many who profusely thank the crowd for their rapt attention and support… and in Alabaster’s case he goes even further: “Thank you for living. I know it’s hard.”

Later he guests with the spellbinding Weather Station and later still, delivers another of the secret sets on the Tipi Stage.

Other highlights of the weekend include Anais Mitchell, Kevin Morby, Kurt Vile, Lucy Dacus, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Fleet Foxes and the incomparable avant-garde math rock of Black Midi.

An electrical storm delays the hugely anticipated Big Top finale from Yard Act, but when they finally take to the stage with their stinging political commentary of today’s Britain and characters they’ve created from it, it’s well worth the wait.

But their vitriol is not without moments of hope, one of which sums up the weekend beautifully, “Give me some of that good stuff, that human spirit. Cut it with 100 per cent endurance.”

THE Dragons are rolling the dice next season by operating with a stripped-down squad.

Director of rugby Dean Ryan has enjoyed a strong recruitment drive, signing eight new players and bringing Angus O'Brien back from the Scarlets.

However, the books have been balanced and raft of individuals left at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

The management have opted to gamble by going for what they believe is a more concentrated squad that will provide competition for places.

That decision does leave them vulnerable should injuries strike in one position, here are the areas of risk ahead of the coming campaign…

South Wales Argus: Dragons full-back Angus O'BrienDragons full-back Angus O'Brien

FULL-BACK: Angus O'Brien, Jordan Williams, David Richards, Ioan Davies.

O'Brien, who came through the Dragons academy as a fly-half, has played a lot at 15 and scored at Rodney Parade with the Scarlets last season when he showed an impressive turn of speed.

Williams has the ability to transform the attack but has not enjoyed a consistent run of games since 2019 when he ruptured knee ligaments.

Richards caught the eye after an early call from the bench in the win at the Scarlets while Davies needs to take any chances that come his way.

RISK LEVEL: Low

South Wales Argus: RETURN: Ashton Hewitt is back for the DragonsRETURN: Ashton Hewitt is back for the Dragons

WING: Ashton Hewitt, Jared Rosser, Rio Dyer.

Clearly an area of vulnerability, even with the return of the influential Ashton Hewitt. The Dragons need him to enjoy a season free from injury along with Jared Rosser and Rio Dyer.

Other than that it would be either players shifted out wide – one of the full-backs or centre Sio Tomkinson – or a young prospect with Wales Under-20s international Oli Andrew looking to push on after impressing with Newport RFC.

RISK LEVEL: High

South Wales Argus: IMPACT: Summer signing Sio TomkinsonIMPACT: Summer signing Sio Tomkinson

CENTRE: Aneurin Owen, Jack Dixon, Max Clark, Sio Tomkinson, Cory Allen.

Strong options but there isn't huge depth after the gamble to release stalwart Adam Warren, always so consistent.

Owen is closing in on a return after a fractured ankle in March while strong-running, hard-hitting Dixon impressed in the run-in.

Clark arrives from Bath and while Tomkinson heads to Europe from the Highlanders and could be a stand-out signing.

Allen remains on the comeback trail and the Dragons will need some injury fortune in this area to avoid needing to field JJ Hanrahan as a makeshift 12 or Rosser an emergency 13.

RISK LEVEL: Medium

South Wales Argus: SWITCH: JJ Hanrahan will pull the stringsSWITCH: JJ Hanrahan will pull the strings

FLY-HALF: Sam Davies, JJ Hanrahan, Will Reed, Angus O'Brien.

Davies previously enjoyed dominance at 10 but that changed at the end of last season when promising Reed grasped his chance after a superb campaign with Newport RFC.

Experienced Hanrahan was signed to push Davies out of his comfort zone while O'Brien arrives with a dual role, covering 15 after coming through the Dragons' ranks as a fly-half.

RISK LEVEL: Low

South Wales Argus: Gonzalo Bertranou will return from Pumas dutyGonzalo Bertranou will return from Pumas duty

SCRUM-HALF: Gonzalo Bertranou, Rhodri Williams, Lewis Jones.

The Dragons have three seasoned campaigners but Bertranou will miss the start of the season because of Argentina duty.

No youngsters have pushed on in recent seasons – Jonathan Evans was the last academy prospect to really make a mark – and that has to change in the coming years with Che Hope and Morgan Lloyd the promising prospects on the books.

RISK LEVEL: Medium

South Wales Argus: Wales prop Rob Evans scoring against the Dragons for the Scarlets last seasonWales prop Rob Evans scoring against the Dragons for the Scarlets last season

LOOSEHEAD: Rhodri Jones, Rob Evans, Aki Seiuli, Josh Reynolds.

There should be no problems here after deals were agreed for Wales props Jones and Evans from the Ospreys and Scarlets respectively.

Seiuli arrived from Glasgow last summer and proved to be a dependable presence on the left of the front row, playing in 21 of 22 fixtures to earn a contract extension.

Reynolds needs to push on and put the heat on his senior rivals – at 23 he is no longer a raw prospect.

RISK LEVEL: Very low

South Wales Argus: Wales hooker Bradley Roberts has joined from UlsterWales hooker Bradley Roberts has joined from Ulster

HOOKER: Elliot Dee, Bradley Roberts, Ellis Shipp, James Benjamin.

Another area of strength with Wales internationals Dee and Roberts pushing each other for the start.

Shipp has been hindered by injury and needs to improve on an underwhelming 2021/22 while Benjamin has been given a chance after shifting from the back row to the heart of the front row.

RISK LEVEL: Low

South Wales Argus: Leon Brown has struggled with injuryLeon Brown has struggled with injury

TIGHTHEAD: Leon Brown, Lloyd Fairbrother, Chris Coleman, Luke Yendle.

A very big worry. The Dragons need Leon Brown to get plenty of games under his belt but the Wales prop is already set to miss the start of the campaign after being hindered by a shoulder nerve issue for most of last season.

That puts an awful lot of responsibility on the fit-again Fairbrother while Coleman must continue his rise.

Yendle is back after a loan spell with Cornish Pirates but the roster is a worry in such a pivotal position.

RISK LEVEL: Very high

South Wales Argus: LEADER: Sean Lonsdale has made an early impression at the DragonsLEADER: Sean Lonsdale has made an early impression at the Dragons

LOCK: Will Rowlands, Ben Carter, Sean Lonsdale, George Nott, Joe Davies, Huw Taylor.

Could be an area of strength for the Dragons with Rowlands a hugely influential figure.

His fellow Wales international Ben Carter will look to keep developing while Sean Lonsdale and George Nott arrive with English Premiership experience, plus the ability to slot in at 6.

Joe Davies will be determined to stay in the mix while Huw Taylor has turned into a lock who can also cover the back row.

RISK LEVEL: Very low

South Wales Argus: Aaron Wainwright is one of the Dragons' many back row optionsAaron Wainwright is one of the Dragons' many back row options

BACK ROW: Ross Moriarty, Taine Basham, Aaron Wainwright, Harri Keddie, Ollie Griffiths, Ben Fry, Lennon Greggains, Huw Taylor.

An area of the team that has always been a strength for the Dragons and there looks to be plenty more talent coming through the academy, notably Wales Under-20s blindside/lock Ryan Woodman.

The Dragons would need to be seriously unlucky to be stretched in this department and even have the options of Lonsdale and Nott against hefty packs.

International periods will lead to some absentees but Wales' strength means it is highly unlikely that more than three would get called up.

RISK LEVEL: Very low.

LONDON GRAMMAR LIGHT UP THE NIGHT

London Grammar’s performance tonight takes place as the sun begins to set over the Region Of Madrid stage. Having kicked off with the stately ‘Californian Soil’, as the three-piece get further into their set – and into their more dancier numbers – it starts to get dark, and LG’s strobing light show becomes more prominent as the evening’s festivities get underway around them.

Tracks like the euphoric ‘Baby It’s You’ and a wild, extended version of ‘Lose Your Head’ help usher the audience into night-time mode. But the biggest reaction is reserved for ‘Strong’, which sees thousands of punters linking arm-in-arm; a crowd-wide sing-a-long breaking out as the lyrics are bellowed back at the band. HM

Support Team

Which makes this a great time to talk about what the support team for Raging Bull Casino can do for you. Way back when we were talking about the deals and codes that the casino had to offer, you might have been wondering: Where does one get those codes? Well, the support team is 24/7 and they have info on all the deals you need.

That means whether you need Raging Bull Casino free chips or another Raging Bull Casino no deposit code for 2022 or later, they can help you.

They can also help you track how your deposits and withdrawals are going. This is critical, as one of the most common reasons people leave online casinos is because a wire transfer is taking too long in one direction or another.

When you call to talk to them about your transfer, ask for the number associated with your transfer. You can also ask for email confirmation of the transfer. Since the transfer is associated with an actual bank record, they will be able to provide you documentation that confirms it. This will ensure that you know how long it will take.

Conclusion

Users are somewhat mixed about Raging Bull Online Casino. On the one hand, they love the great variety of games. Everyone is looking for that one online casino where they can go to play anything, and for a lot of people this is the one.

On the other hand, the most common user complaint is how slow it is to transfer out your winnings. We have brought up this issue when discussing both withdrawals and customer support. The reason we emphasized it is that, generally speaking, the casino is trustworthy. The transfers are slow, but they are also easy for you to track.

In short, Raging Bull Casino is a great online casino with tons of games that allows you to both bet and win fiat currency alongside cryptocurrency. You just have to be patient with it and keep a close eye on the deals and documents involved in making money on there. As long as you go in with both eyes open, it is unlikely to make you rage.

The MultiWay XtraTM Feature

The most interesting thing about Siberian Storm is that it doesn’t pay according to a fixed set of predefined paylines. Instead, any sequence of at least three symbols is a winner, if it appears on consecutive reels, and starts either from the leftmost or rightmost reel. The exact slot position on the reel is irrelevant. Of course, the longer the sequence of reels, the better, so ideally, we are aiming at having the same symbol on all five reels. Repetitive symbols per reel multiply the result, and all repetitions on all reels are taken into account. This acts as a multiplier rule that doesn’t require a special symbol. It may sound confusing at first because there seems to be too much to think about. However, the game highlights the winning combinations and indicates the total value of each win, so you don’t have to do the math yourself. And finally, the best thing is that the Scatter Awards symbols we mentioned above work independently from the MultiWay XtraTM feature, opening up endless possibilities for a win boost.

Live Casino Games

Live dealer casino games use high definition cameras to display physical casino games and human dealers to online players. This also means that instead of simply playing against an algorithm that simulates the odds that would exist if they were in a real casino, players are able to play with other gamers from all over the world in real time. This high-quality experience has made it easy for RTG casino games to quickly stake out a key position in many of the internet’s biggest casinos.

RTG’s selection of live casino games are generally table games which are hosted live via a high-quality video link and pit you against other players from around the world. RTG casinos are known for having some of the highest quality live games available and the interaction adds an element that other more automated online games have long lacked and gives users access to a far more realistic casino experience from their own home.

Rules and Features of the Game

Siberian Storm has five reels, of which reels 1 and 5 have three slots, reels 2 and 4 have four slots, and reel 3 has five slots. This results in a unique look of the game and influences the winnings too due to the payout and multiplication rules. The game has eight regular symbols with values ranging from 5 to 1000 depending on the number of slots where the symbols occur. There are also Scatter Awards, which are essentially multipliers that give either 2x, 10x or 50x the total bet based on the number of reels where the symbol is present. The game features one type of wild symbol which appears on reels 2, 3 and 4, substitutes for any regular symbol, and help in completing wining lines. And last, the player is awarded up to 96 free spins when hitting the Free Spin Bonus symbols on all five reels. Furthermore, during the free spins, you get the chance to retrigger the bonus multiple times and increase the free spins to a maximum of 240. As expected, all free spins are at the same coin value as the spin that activated them. One thing you need to keep in mind is that the number of coins per bet in the game is fixed at 50. Therefore, the coin value selection remains the only setting that allows you to adjust your bet value.

The North and South Aisle

The North Aisle with its circular pillars date from about 1250AD and the South Aisle with its octagonal pillars date from the 14th century. The cross hanging over the High Table was made by local carpenter using oak beams from the old spire. The roofs of both aisles have been raised and the original sloping line of the North Aisle roof can be clearly seen above the wall painting at the east end, as well as externally at the west end of both aisles.

South AisleThe South Aisle

The late 19th century box pews are unusual in that they are tiered at the west end of the nave. Near the south door is an unusual alms box, dated 1846, with a cross for the money slot. On the other side of the south door is a plaque commemorating the founding of the church in 792AD and a framed copy of the wording of Duke Bertaold’s will. Beneath the First World War Memorial is a table used by the Archbishop of Canterbury on the occasion of a field military church service held at Hesdin, France on Sunday 21st May 1916.

The south aisle is the most recent part of the church to be updated, raising the floor to make a welcoming refreshment area and altering the existing clergy vestry to add a fully functioning kitchen.refreshment area
