9. Will Rams and Bengals have a hangover?

The Super Bowl hangover is real. It's hard to get all the way to the final game of the NFL season and then do it again the next season. The Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals had awesome runs to the Super Bowl last season and gave us a dramatic game with the Rams coming out on top. The Rams had to retool a bit but should be contenders again. The Bengals, behind young stars Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, have to prove they weren't just a team that got hot in the postseason. Both teams will be in the spotlight all season.

Statues of lions guard the entrance to London’s Chinatown. The big cats are considered to be good omens, which is why these stone sculptures probably aren’t the only ones you’ll see in the area. And, if you visit during Chinese New Year celebrations in February, you might be lucky enough to see a Lion Dance – a ceremonial dance featuring drums and ornate lion costumes.

New Year decoration activity ideas:

• Before you even start to decorate, the tradition is to clean the house of negative energy and sweep away any evil spirits and bad luck – a great excuse to get the family in on a cleaning spree!
• Create blossom branches to display – These are used as Chinese New Year decorations to represent growth and hope. Get creative by using pom poms or scrunched up pink tissue paper and sticking them to a bare branch. Or do finger paintings.
• Make a Chinese lantern – hanging a red lantern in front of your door is believed to drive off bad luck. A template for a lantern is included in the activity pack, see point 8.
• Make a Chinese paper cutting – paper cutting is the ancient art of cutting, often very intricate, designs out of paper. For Chinese New Year, animal or plants are often depicted, each representing a different wish for the new year e.g.  a magpie perched on the branch of a plum tree signals that a lucky event will happen soon! Here is a Chinese New Year paper cutting template to try, and a paper cutting craft how-to.
• And finally, decorate yourself for the occasion! Dress from head to foot in red and gold to ward off any bad luck!

02052022 Yateley May Fayre, White Lion, Dog and Partridge

Lovely weather, lots of support from friends and locals, Four spots around the Fayre avoiding the arena, with a hyper active Horse – Yateley folk are particularly wary ‘the thing of nightmares’ was heard more than once. Dancing much improved!

White Lion had an excellent crowd, noisy and generous. Disparity in prices between the ubiquitous Doom Bar and Landlord was the main topic of conversation… Dancing got better! Great spot.

Off to the D&P, home of YMM. We should process between these pubs. D&P was busy, Harley meet in the front and blues in the back tent plus swarms of YMM. Busy! Young family en masse – lovely. Keith’s first morris dance in public was very well received. Well done Keith!

8. Can New York football get better?

Technically, football in New York state is just fine. The Buffalo Bills should be awesome. But the two teams with "New York" in their name, who actually play in New Jersey, have been terrible. The Giants are trying to turn things around with a new coach, Brian Daboll. The Jets are hoping second-year coach Robert Saleh and second-year quarterback Zach Wilson can help turn around an improving roster. The NFL would probably like if the biggest media market had a top team. We'll see if either franchise is moving toward respectability.

Our View...

We get the usual 96.50% Pragmatic RTP here and the graphics, sounds and animations are pleasant enough.
